How to request low- and no-cost moves through Loadout's Community Assistance Program (CAP) — and how to keep the people you support safe while you do.

What CAP is

Loadout Moving's Community Assistance Program supports low- and no-cost moves for domestic violence survivors. Requests come only through verified advocacy partners like you — Loadout doesn't take CAP requests directly from clients.

Please don't promise a move. CAP funds and crews are allocated first come, first served through verified channels with advocacy organizations. A request becomes a commitment only when its status reads Approved or Scheduled in the portal.

Making a request

  1. Verify the need through your organization's usual process. Loadout relies on you for this step.
  2. Open the portal and sign in with your personal access code. Don't share your code — each advocate has their own.
  3. Tap "+ New CAP request" and fill in the move details. Use your own case ID or initials as the reference.
  4. Track it. The status updates in the portal, and you'll get an email when it changes. Loadout's notes appear on the request.
  5. Coordinate through Loadout. When a move is scheduled, Loadout works out exact addresses and timing with you by phone — not in the portal.

What to include

Include

  • Your case ID or the client's initials
  • Move size and number of people
  • General areas — city, ZIP, or neighborhood
  • The window of dates that would work
  • Stairs or elevator at pickup
  • Large items, storage needs, or lifting limits
  • Safety notes, like "coordinate only through me" or timing limits

Never include

  • The client's name
  • Their phone number or email
  • Any street address — pickup or destination
  • The other party's name or details
  • Case files, photos, or court documents

The portal blocks anything that looks like a street address. Exact locations are shared only once a move is scheduled, directly between you and the Loadout team.

Your monthly allowance

Each partner organization has a number of CAP requests per calendar month, shown at the top of your portal as "used / allowance". Requests submitted after it's used are automatically waitlisted, and waitlisted or cancelled requests don't count against it. The allowance resets on the 1st.

Organization leads can switch to the Organization view to see every request from their team and plan together. The chart shows requests per month for the last year — tap any month to see its requests.

FAQ

How fast will I hear back?

Loadout reviews requests in the order they arrive. You'll get an email each time the status changes.

Can I change a request after I submit it?

Add the change in a quick email or call to the CAP team and they'll update it. You can cancel it yourself in the portal until it's scheduled.

A move is urgent. What should I do?

Submit the request with the earliest workable dates and note the urgency in the safety notes, then contact the CAP team. Loadout can't guarantee timing, so please keep other options open with your client.

A coworker needs access.

Have them request access at the sign-up page. Each advocate gets their own code.

I lost my access code.

Contact the Loadout CAP team and they'll send you a new one.
